At Family Support Wales we have many years experience of recruiting within the care and support industry. Our managers have a vast knowledge of not only how to recruit but who to recruit. We understand that not every carer cares and not every support worker is capable of offering support. That’s why our knowledge of recruiting in the care sector in Wales is vital to who you recruit as your personal assistant.
We have a robust recruitment process that starts with us assessing your needs and the type of person that you want to care and support you in your own home. We will aim to match you with the type of person and personality that will best suit you. Once we have an idea of the type of person you want we will set about looking for them.
Our process starts with you. We get to know you and what type of person you are and what type of person you want.
We assess your personal needs and wants and what would be expected of the PA who will be working for you.
An advert will be construct that highlights the job specification and person specification. Your advert will then be processed through our website, social media, local press and Indeed Jobs Website.
We then collate the application forms and short list with you to select the PA’s you believe will be good for you.
Interview dates will then be arranged for the applicants. We encourage you to attend this part of the process and meet the applicants in person. If this is something you are not comfortable with doing we can complete the interviews on your behalf and feed the results back to you.
Once you have selected the right PA for you, we will send an offer of employment letter on your behalf and a contract of employment that will state the working requirements, pay rate and start date etc.
We will then ensure the relevant processes are complete, such as a DBS check, references and driving certificates etc. These will be filed appropriately in line with Data Protection requirements. Your information will always remain confidential in accordance with our Confidentiality Policy.
Your PA will be trained appropriately according to your needs. This may include Induction training, Safeguarding awareness and training that may be specific to your needs such as Dementia awareness or Autism awareness etc.
Once your PA is compliant and good to go we will liaise with you to ensure you are fully aware of when your PA will start and if further support is needed we will work with you to ensure you are comfortable with your choice.
